Shaman Journey This visualisation was written by Nevill Drury to provide a basic framework to explore the drumming CD. It's more like guidance to know what to look for before you take the journey. The Tree of Life is one of the universal symbols in the shamanic world, and to use this tape effectively you will have to visualise entering your own World Tree. here is a summary of the visualisation method which accompanies the drumbeat. Relax in darkness, or with your eyes closed, and visualise before you a majestic tree whose branches reach up towards the heavens and its roots down into the earth. As the drumming begins, imagine that you are entering a doorway at the foot of the tree. Now feel that you are passing into one of the large roots of the tree - which will become a tunnel through to light at the other end. Feel the luminescence all around you and call for a guide - an animal, a 'spirit being', a mythic creature. Ask your guide to help you explore the domain which you have entered and recall as much detail as you can about what you experience. When you hear four rapid beats at the end of the drum journey, you will know it is time to return. Write a record of each journey in a diary and reflect on the meaning of your visions as they gradually present you with their own mystical message.
